THE Winsford Mayor’s Oscar’s needs your vote to make sure the town’s best community champions are honoured in 2013.

The awards recognise people that have made a big difference to the lives of others in the town – has someone helped you in the past year, or achieved something you think is worth shouting about?

The ceremony gets underway at the Lifestyle Centre on Friday, April 26, but readers only have until February 28 to cast their votes for the most deserving members of the community.

The cream of Winsford’s entertaining talent were selected following audition to perform at the event.

Elite Dancers Mini Beat, magician Magic Dan, solo artists Charlie and Joelle, the Masquerade School of Performing Arts, Celtica Irish Dancers and singer guitarist Sam Lyon will all perform.

There are 12 ‘best of the year’ categories to nominate in at this year’s ceremony.

They are: Sports Person, Young Person, Performer, Volunteer, Community Initiative, Senior Citizen, Club or Organisation, Customer Service, Business Initiative, Young Entrepreneur, Trader and School Project.

Mayor Steve Smith said: “There are unsung heroes all over Winsford who do great work for the town. We really want people to get involved this year and help us honour their contribution.”
