FOALS have revealed plans for their double album project as the four-piece prepare for a UK tour.

The alternative band from Oxford will be releasing the first part of ‘Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost’ on March 8 before a string of live shows in June. That includes a gig at Victoria Warehouse in Manchester on June 11.

Eager to break traditional song structures, Foals have recorded 20 tracks which are said to defy both convention and fan expectation. The second part of the experimental double album will be released in autumn.

Frontman Yannis Philippakis said: “They’re two halves of the same locket. They can be listened to and appreciated individually, but fundamentally, they are companion pieces.”

One of the things that connects the records is a theme exploring the disorientating nature of the modern world.

Yannis added: “There's a definite idea about the world being no longer habitable in the way that it was. A kind of perilousness lack of predictability and a feeling of being overwhelmed by the magnitudes of the problems we face."

Tickets go on general sale on Friday, February 1, but a pre-sale is available for fans who pre-order ‘Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 1’. Visit foals.co.uk/everythingnotsavedwillbelost
