RICK Astley will perform a homecoming show next year when he returns to Newton.

The icon of the Stock Aitken Waterman era, who has recently enjoyed a career resurgence, will play for The Jockey Club Live at Haydock Park on July 20.

Rick's show is part of some early announcements for 2019 which also include Jess Glynne on June 7.

As an added festive bonus, there is also a special offer on early bird tickets.

Despite being best known for 80s staple Never Gonna Give You Up, which topped the charts in 25 countries, Rick returned to capture the heart of a nation with his number one, platinum selling album 50 in 2016 and this year followed it up with Beautiful Life which entered the top 10.

Jess Glynne has quickly become one pop's biggest acts.

Her number one record, I Cry When I Laugh, has been a chart staple for 138 weeks and resulted in 12 million worldwide singles sales, 2.5 billion Spotify streams, a sold-out UK arena tour and Brit, MTV, Ivor Novello, MOBO, Q and Glamour award nominations.

Dickon White, regional director for Jockey Club racecourses, said: “We are very excited to welcome back both Jess Glynne and Rick Astley to Haydock Park next Summer.

"Having wowed the crowds previously, we are delighted to see them here again. Combining both racing and world class music, the two evenings will certainly stand out in the 2019 calendar so I’d urge everyone to make the most of the ticket offers and book early.”

Tickets will be on sale at 8am on Friday at thejockeyclublive.co.uk, with a presale available to customers at 8am on Thursday.

Tickets for both Jess Glynne and Rick Astley start at £35 with an early bird Christmas offer of £30 for adults until midnight on Boxing Day.

Child tickets for both shows start from £17.50.
