THE sound of music will be filling the streets of Nantwich on Saturday as the South Cheshire Pipe Band entertains shoppers and visitors on the square.
Playing mainly traditional music, enjoy the well-known slow airs, marches, strathspeys, jigs, reels and hornpipes between 11am and 2pm.
Councillor John Hammond, portfolio holder for the Local Environment, said: "This band is wonderful and much looked forward to within our weekly programme of entertainment in the town centres.
"Not only can you experience the sounds of the bag pipes but also musicians wear traditional Seaforth McKenzie Tartan and are a real treat to see so do come along and support them."
The Band is currently looking to increase its numbers and welcomes pipers and drummers of all levels of experience - those interested can contact the band on the day or band secretary Reg Flower on 01625 420112.
