Local Authorities (Referendums) (Petitions and Directions) (England) Regulations 2011
Notice is hereby given that:
1. Steven Broomhead, Electoral Registration Officer and Proper Officer for the purposes of the above regulations, has published the number that is equal to 5 per cent of the number of local government electors shown on the electoral register having effect for the authority's area on 15 February 2017;
2. The number for the said purpose is 7919;
3. The number will be used for the purposes of determining the validity of petitions presented after 31 March 2017 and before 1 April 2018, seeking a referendum on whether or not there should be an elected mayor or alternative constitutional model, unless the circumstances mentioned in paragraph 4. below apply.
4. If the number for 2018, to be published in February 2018, is less than 7919, that lower number will be usedforthe purpose of determining the validity of petitions presented between the date the number is published and 31 March 2018.
5. The number that will be used for the purposes of determining the validity of petitions presented before 31 March 2017, is7852.

I, Steven Broomhead, Electoral Registration Officer and Proper Officer for the purposes of the above regulations, HEREBY CERTIFY in accordance with regulation 4 of the said regulations, that the number that is equal to 5 per cent of the local government electors shown on the electoral register having effect for this area on 15 February 2017 is: 7919 Dated this 15th day of February 2017
