EDWARD JOSEPH NAUGHTON

NAUGHTON Edward Joseph "Ted" After a long and brave battle with prostate cancer, the family are sad to announce that Ted passed away peacefully on 25/12/2021 at the age of 86. His funeral took place at St. Wilfrids RC Church Northwich where he was an active member of the congregation. His body was committed by St Helen Witton Street Churchyard alongside his Mother. The service was conducted by Father Paul Standish. Ted was born in Northwich to the late Edward and Julia Naughton along with his siblings Anna, Joseph, Julia and Patricia. On leaving school Ted joined MANWEB as an apprentice electrician, for whom he worked all of his professional career, save for service National Service time in Germany. In 1968 he met, and married Elizabeth (Liz) and subsequently welcomed their son Nicholas and daughter Charlotte into the family. They moved for Beach Road, Hartford shortly afterwards. As those that had the privilege to know him will know, Ted had a great work ethic and when we was retired from MANWEB he continued to work as a Shared Lives carer by whom he was honoured by, just before his passing, by receiving a long service award. When not working / caring his passion for golf saw him most weekends at Sandbach Golf Club where he was a life member and where he took an active part arranging Senior events. Ted will be missed by many; he was a wonderful helper and mentor to all the knew him; and for whom her cared for. He was always willing to assist - be it hospital visits, changing a light bulb, taking them to medical appointment or just talking and listening. Ted gave all of this knowing he had prostate cancer which he was determined that would not control his Life. Ted is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Liz), children Nicholas and Charlotte, son-In-Law Craig, grandchildren Samuel and Amber, devoted sisters Anna (and of course husband Norrie whom he treated as his Brother), Julia (and husband Iain) and finally Patricia who was ever present in the last few months of his physical Life with us all. The Family would like to thank everyone for their kind words, support, cards and donations. Our special thanks to the care teams at Macmillan Cancer Support, NHS District Nurses, and George Lightfoot's Funeral Services for taking care of Ted. We wish Ted the Happy and Peaceful Afterlife which he deserves, and we will see you again at some point in the future. XXXX
