LACK of money is no excuse for the disgraceful condition of the roads in Cheshire West.
People need to know they are entitled to take legal action if they are injured by potholes that are deeper than the legal maximum. The council is responsible for the repair of potentially dangerous potholes that can cause possible serious injury to people.
To say that the council has no money to meet repairs to the roads will not stand up in a court of law.
The condition of the roads in Winsford is dangerous, and I would advise people to report any dangerous pothole to the council and keep a record of the time and date of their complaint.
The council should also note that drawing a chalk line round a hazardous pothole does not constitute fixing it and as the chalk lines cannot be seen at night, does not provide any warning to cyclists, bikers or other road users.
