MIKE Parsons’ Winsford and Middlewich Guardian article, published with an uncritical eye, speaks of his ‘disillusion’ and ‘anger’, tapping into a growing feeling amongst Middlewich residents.

It’s such a shame; if only there was someone he could turn to that might have been, for example, working with Cheshire East for the last 15 years, who might have some measure of influence over the situation?

I was also perplexed by his eagerness to distance himself from his own achievements, most notably the ‘improvements’ on Newton Bank gyratory, where residents are still ‘marooned’ despite its recent expensive redesign.

It’s only a few weeks since he was photographed on this gyratory alongside his Middlewich First colleague, stating: “I am delighted that we have, at last, managed to secure infrastructure improvements which will now provide safer routes to both schools and the town centre for those who have been denied such for so long.”

(Guardian, May 31, 2018) Cllr Parsons, just like his Middlewich First colleagues, has nothing of note to show for 15 years’ work, and this by his own admission. I think Middlewich deserves better.

When faced with an aggressive borough council we need councillors who are equal to the task. We need pit bulls standing up for us.
