I HEARTILY endorse the opinions of Janet Dawes in last week’s Guardian about the steps from Sainsbury’s to Barons Quay.
I have recently seen an elderly lady obviously having trouble getting down the steps towards Marks and Spencers.
I’ve also seen a couple struggling to heave a trolley up them.
Surely it would not be impossible even at this late stage to put in a ramp, as the builders are very obviously still on the site?
One would think it would be to Sainsbury’s advantage to have a sensible way for the less mobile to access their store from Barons Quay.
Maybe they would have enough clout with the council to persuade them to rethink, even if the views of ordinary residents could not prevail.
