CHESHIRE West and Chester Council is asking for people’s views on the design of public health services going forward.

When you have to rely on health services you are normally at a low point because your health is suffering.

This can often influence the way we perceive the treatment that we get from those services.

Comments tend to be of a more negative nature during treatment and more positive following a successful outcome of the treatment.

Our health services are by no means perfect but do we expect too much?

Compared to many countries across the world our services are a shining light.

Perhaps we are the ones abusing our health service by our unnecessary visits to A&E or our GPs?

Perhaps our choice of lifestyle puts a massive strain on them?

Perhaps it is our fault that those in genuine need cannot be treated when required.

Massive amounts of money are pumped into the NHS but if it’s being wasted on time wasters and self abusers then what are we to expect?

Before we put all the blame on the government and the councils let’s try a bit of self reflection and ask if we need to accept some of that blame too.
