PETE Waterman is a well-known steam railway romantic but this in no way qualifies him to extol the extremely doubtful virtues of HS2.
Who really wants to travel from Manchester to Crewe in 18 minutes?
Who will benefit from this wondrous fact?
More importantly, does this wondrous piece of imaginative data justify the Government forcing people to sacrifice their farms, businesses and homes, just so passengers can travel at high speed across the valuable farming community of the Cheshire plain?
