DR Peter Hirst continues his party’s view that the country should have more EU referendums until they get the answer they really want.

He says “There is no clarity about what the electorate was voting for......besides leaving the EU”.

That, Doctor, was exactly what we voted for.

The Common Market that we joined in the 70s has morphed twice, into the EC and now into the EU, where everything in our lives is governed centrally, from what bananas we eat to what light bulbs we can use.

The majority of the voting citizens across the UK decided to restore all such governance and legal decision making to our own UK (not English) parliament regardless of its political colour using exactly the same first past the post system that got him into local government. Get used to it.

The real test of his intentions would be if a second vote were to be held and it somehow went the opposite way. Would he stop asking for more votes or would he do the decent thing and request a ‘best out of three’?
