REGARDING last week’s front page story in the Winsford and Middlewich Guardian.

It really must be emphasised that the people in question, the manager and her colleague, are now no longer at Westwood Court or in charge there.

I have visited Westwood Court Care Home many times recently and the new manager and staff seem to be really caring, dedicated people. I am assured they have the welfare of residents at their hearts, indeed I am informed the residents’ welfare is key with regard to everything they do.

It was also my great pleasure recently to work with the new manager, Mr Jince George and Cheshire West and Chester Highways to enable new road signage near Westwood Court.

It is hoped this new warning signage will make drivers aware there are elderly or vulnerable residents of Westwood Court accompanied by staff crossing the road on Well Street to go to the town centre.

I would add the new manager, Mr George, brought the road safety issue regarding the Westwood Court residents to my attention.

Mr George and I had several meetings with a highways officer before the new signage was placed in situ and hopefully this may resolve the traffic issue.

Mr George, the new manager of Westwood Court, and I are currently working on another issue he wishes me to support him with.

I look forward to visiting the care home again very soon.
