I WAS amazed and confused to read in the Guardian that Northwich Town Council is still ‘desperate’ about the future of the town’s Weaver Square shopping centre.
As I wrote a year ago, it clearly has no future as a shopping centre with the Barons Quay mega mall opening in a year or so.
So what to do with it?
Equally clearly I’d have thought. With the demand for affordable accommodation, it could be developed as affordable housing funded by Cheshire West and Chester Council which owns the site.
Perhaps the new Labour leader of CWAC can take action together with the Labour town council to resolve this ‘desperate’ situation?
