IT IS time questions were asked about Cheshire East Council’s inability to create a local plan which stands up to scrutiny and does what it is supposed to. £3.7 million of taxpayers funds wasted and more to follow to rectify the untenable mess they have created.
Clr David Brown has stepped down from his role as the person in charge of this mess, or was he helped by the man at the top, Clr Michael Jones, who now seems to be trying to distance himself from the plan?
I was always led to believe that the man at the top pulls the strings and his say was final, but by the same rule got the blame. It looks like this does not apply at Cheshire East Council.
One would hope that now Clr Brown has now been relieved of his duties he has also been relieved of his allowances; it would appear Clr Jones has sanctioned nearly £1.4 million in councillors allowances/expenses and the £30,286 paid to Clr Brown would look very nice in the council bank account.
