Vodkat League plans to publish fixtures calendar towards the end of month

WINSFORD United’s fans will have to wait a few more weeks yet before plotting their path for the first few weeks of the new season.

The Vodkat North West Counties League announced yesterday, Tuesday, that fixtures lists would not be published until the end of the month.

“I know that’s later than usual but it’s out of my hands,” said league fixture secretary John Deal.

“The Evo-Stick League do not release their match information until next week and I also have the competitions at levels below ours waiting for our fixtures.

“I think the FA should produce a weekly programme for fixtures releases working from the Football League downwards.”

He said Winsford’s foes for August – the first Premier Division match is on Saturday, August 7 – should be revealed this week.
