Bootle test is next for in-form Blues

WINSFORD prepared for this weekend’s battle with title favourites Bootle in the best possible way, scoring six goals last Tuesday.

Matthew Ward was on target four times in a 6-1 crushing of Colne, providing an assists for Andrew Hurst and Rick Bailey to score the others in an emphatic victory.

It leaves Blues, who did not have a match at the weekend, occupying eighth place in the North West Counties League Premier Division, with sixth spot still their target.

Bootle arrive at Barton Stadium this Saturday, kick off 3pm, in third place but with games in hand on pacesetters Ramsbottom at the summit.

Winsford visit Stone on Bank Holiday Monday before a trip to Barnoldswick next weekend.
