TONIGHT’S Cheshire Senior Cup clash between Winsford United and Warrington Town has been postponed again.

It is the fourth time the tie at St Luke’s Barton Stadium has been called off, the three previous occasions due to the playing surface being waterlogged.

At 4.35pm today Blues announced the pitch had passed an inspection, but the match has since been confirmed as off.

Suggestions were made on social media that the Yellows have refused to send a team.

Warrington Town chairman Toby Macormac said: “Due to unforeseen circumstances we will not be fulfilling the fixture.

“But I can categorically state we have not refused to send a team.”
