WINSFORD United’s sequence of six victories stopped following Monday’s draw with Runcorn Linnets, but manager Lee Duckworth is not downbeat.

On the contrary, he saw plenty to be positive about after Blues recovered from the blow of conceding an early goal.

A point has propelled them in to the table’s top 10.

“We’ve taken four points off them this season and that’s not an easy thing to do!” said the player-boss.

“We expected it to be tough, physical too, and we had to call in one or two favours because we had a handful of players who were unavailable.

“Linnets were strong, as they always are, so I’m happy to have seen my lads stand firm.”

He expects to have Dale Jennings available again for a trip to AFC Liverpool tomorrow, kick off 3pm.

Chris Middleton should be back too.

However Danny Hudson (hamstring), Danny Egan (groin) and Brandon Moores are ruled out by injury.

Duckworth told the Guardian that attacker Nathan Cotterell, who has scored 16 goals for Winsford this season, had featured for parent-club Nantwich in the past week to cover for absences at the Weaver Stadium.

“We still hope to be able to call on him,” he added.

Winsford have already beaten Reds this season, a 2-0 victory in December marking the start of their winning run.

Liverpool ended a three-match losing streak by beating Padiham on home turf a fortnight ago.
