HARRY Brazel has an opportunity to prove himself at a higher level after leaving Winsford to sign for Stockport County.

The 25-year-old, a midfielder, was an unused substitute during his new club’s thrilling draw with Darlington in National League North on Saturday – a game watched by more than 3,500 people.

“He was buzzing to be part of it,” said Blues’ player-manager Lee Duckworth.

“Harry impressed Stockport when we played them in the Cheshire FA Senior Cup, and that’s a game that has brought him to their attention.

“They got in touch afterwards, and had a look at him in training. It’s happened pretty quickly from there.”

Brazel has made more than 20 starts for Winsford this season in all competitions, and will remain registered for the Barton Stadium outfit.

That means he can play for Blues when not involved with County.

“Harry is one we feel can meet the demands at our level,” said Stockport boss Jim Gannon.

“We like his style of play, and his attitude to the game.”
