Why should I watch..?
Winsford were embarrassed by lowly Darwen when the teams met last month, so will be motivated to avenge that defeat.
They put in an improved performance last Saturday as well to see off in-form Maine Road, closing to within a victory of the Premier Division’s top half.
“The challenge now is to play like that consistently,” said manager Lee Duckworth.
Numbers game
Winsford ended a five-match sequence without a league victory last weekend, when Ryan Mellor and David Davies were on target. The former’s opener ended a five-hour drought during which Blues had failed to score once.
Darwen have won only one of their past seven Premier Division matches, beating Blues 3-0 at Barton Stadium last month
Man to keep an eye on
Scott Taylor
Blues are without influential Sam Howells this weekend, so will rely on the diminutive Taylor to be their creative spark.
The former Rudheath Social wide man was in fine form again last weekend, when he was unlucky not to add to his team’s goal tally.
