Blues forced to cancel first friendly

WINSFORD United's first summer friendly - scheduled for next Tuesday - has been cancelled.
Blues had been due to host Blue Square North outfit Stalybridge Celtic at Barton Stadium, but the playing surface is not ready.
“We have returfed the pitch since the end of last season and the downpour earlier this week has softened the surface,” said secretary Bob Astles.
Terry Murphy’s men will start their preparations for their Vodkat North West Counties League Premier Division campaign on Saturday week – July 18 – at Buckley Town.
They play Whitchurch Alport at Crewe’s Legends Club the following Tuesday, kick off 7.45pm.
