WINSFORD United have been handed a home tie in today’s FA Vase draw.
Blues enter the competition at the second qualifying round stage, when they will host Northern Counties East League Premier Division outfit Parkgate.
The Steelmen are due at Barton Stadium on Saturday, September 19, kick off 3pm.
The victors are guaranteed an away day in the first round proper, when potential opponents are AFC Blackpool, Maine Road or Oldham Town.
New manager Terry Murphy will be keen to improve on his predecessors’ poor record in the competition – Winsford have failed at the first hurdle in each of the past two terms.
Both defeats were against Hallam, who finished a single place above Parkgate in the league last season.
