CHARLIE Hatton scored five times for Winsford Saxons as they turned on the style to hammer Tarvin in the Crewe and District League on Saturday.

Andrew Whitney netted a brace for the hosts at Knights Grange, where Sam Ellwood and Richard Kitching were also on target in a 9-0 win.

They rise to third in the table as a reward.

Barnton Wanderers continue to improve, and Craig Humphries claimed four of their goals in a 6-2 victory at Winnington Avenue.

Josh Perry and Tom Yarwood scored too at Jubilee Field for the visitors, who have now prevailed in back-to-back games.

Witton Albion’s reserves could not prevent pace-setting Club AZ from extending a winning sequence to five matches, while Over 3 Grange lost by the odd goal at Sandbach Town.

Jason Alexander and Declan Fulton notched for the Winsford outfit, who ended the contest with nine men following the dismissals of Jordan France and Joe Standish.

Elsewhere, Shaun Bradley netted a consolation for newcomers Clock Tower in a 3-1 defeat at home to Winsford United’s reserves.
