WINSFORD Tennis Club celebrated one of their best results of the campaign to date during a Mixed Division One encounter with Congleton A on Sunday.
Julia Kimpton, Simon Nuttall, Jackie Penn and Alex Lerczak were on court for a 4½-3½ victory that lifts the promoted quartet four points clear of the Division One relegation zone. Nantwich B visit this weekend.
Winsford A continue to occupy a position inside the bottom two of the men’s top-flight following an 8-0 reverse at Hartford B last time out.
Nuttall played with Mark Abbiss, Chris Knight and Steve McCormack.
Title-chasing Hartford A are due at Knights Grange on Thursday.
Winsford B played out a 4-4 draw with Goostrey A in Division Three, and stay third.
Regulars Damian Cookson, Martin Stoilov and Chris Mayoh were joined by newcomer Mike Johnston.
Honours were even too when Winsford C hosted Congleton C at Knights Grange in Division Four.
McCormack was again on duty along with Mike Bee, Steve Harris and Bill Lawrie.
Meanwhile in Division Five, Winsford D recorded a 7-1 success against their guests Acton Bridge B.
Harris featured in a line-up that also included brothers Ryan and Lewis Penn along with fellow junior Alex Toomey.
