Winsford Tennis Club eased to a comfortable victory in the Barbara Smith Shield final on Sunday
A TROPHY cabinet at Winsford Tennis Club has another piece of silverware to show off.
Their men’s A team proved too strong for Wrenbury in the Barbara Smith Shield final on Sunday, easing to a 7½-½ victory.
Chairman Chris Mayoh, Alex Lerczak, Martin Stoilov and Damian Cookson completed their quartet.
Winsford had already secured top spot in the South and Mid Cheshire League’s second tier at the end of the spring campaign, winning all five of their fixtures.
A new summer term starts this month.
The club’s senior players have started practice sessions at Knights Grange every Monday, from 5.30pm.
Ladies are welcome to play.
