WINSFORD'S Michael Blackburn enjoyed some success as he gave his 1600cc Ford Escort XR3i its first race outing of the season.
He took to the track in glorious spring sunshine at Oulton Park in the BRSCC’s two XR Challenge Championship races.
In the first race, after a good start, Blackburn kept second place after the first lap and then held his position to finish on the Podium.
He also had the bonus of the fastest lap in his class for an Escort XR3i.
In the second race, after recovering from a slightly slow start and being back in fourth by the end of the first lap, he was up to second by lap four and stayed there for a second trip to the podium.
He was also able to boast the fastest lap again for an Escort XR3i.
