WINSFORD Tennis Club completed a South and Mid Cheshire League double in style on Sunday.
The men’s B team clinched the winter season’s Division Five title in thrilling fashion at Knights Grange, where they defeated closest-rivals Alsager C to secure first place on sets difference.
Chris Mayoh, Damian Cookson, Steve McCormack and Martin Stoilov were on court a 6-2 victory that propelled the quartet to the top of the table.
Winsford A secured the Division Three title the previous week after they concluded the winter campaign with an unblemished record.
“It’s been a brilliant year for us,” said Mayoh, the club’s chairman.
“Together we’ve won 10 trophies, something I don’t think has ever happened previously.”
Winsford are hoping to enter a team in to the ladies’ league next season.
