ALREADY one of their most successful years, Winsford Tennis Club added another trophy to a growing collection on Sunday morning.
An 8-0 win against Goostrey made certain they will finish first in the South and Mid Cheshire Winter League’s Division Three with an unblemished record.
Chris Mayoh, Mark Abbiss, Damian Cookson and Simon Nuttall were on court at Knights Grange, recording a sixth successive victory.
They have dropped only two sets in those matches, leaving them four points clear of Congleton C in second place.
Meanwhile in Division Five, Winsford B will replace Alsager C at the table’s summit if they win at least six sets against the pacesetters in their final fixture this weekend.
Alsager start that contest two points clear of their hosts, and with a superior sets difference.
“Our fingers are crossed hoping they can finish the job,” said Mayoh, Winsford’s chairman.
