The Croydon Table Tennis League introduced a different league format at the start of the present season, creating four divisions, one more than in previous seasons, comprising of six teams in each division.
At the end of the first half of the season in December, two top teams are promoted and the two bottom teams relegated, providing clubs with more games per season.
Trophies will be awarded at the AGM next year to the successful teams from both competition halves.
All teams are now fast approaching the crucial up or down' stage at the first half.
In the First Division, Monks Hill head the table by a 10 points over Wickham Park B.
In the Second Division, Wickham Park D have a six-point lead over Woodmansterne A but CMO Kenley B are a very close third, and not without a promotion chance.
Forrester B also have a good lead in Third Division, eight points over Monks Hill C who are only just ahead of Woodmansterne B.
Sanderstead B are one point ahead of Wickham C in the Fourth Division, setting up a thrilling climax over the next few weeks.
Meanwhile, Monks Hill, now in its 29th year, created an age record recently when Lon Moir, the founder of the club, was partnered by Adam Sandhu in a doubles match. The remarkable record was created when 11-year-old Adam teamed up with Lon, who is a mere 77. The pair lost on a deuce game.
