I AM writing to express our appreciation to the good Samaritans in Davenham who responded to our dad’s accident on January 14.
He was returning from home after his daily visit to his wife in Davenham Hall, when he slipped on ice in Davenham Road around 6pm, and as a result is spending his 84th birthday in hospital.
Fortunately two passers-by came to his aid and called an ambulance.
They stayed and waited with dad for the full 45 minutes it took for the ambulance to arrive from Crewe.
They, along with a local resident who provided blankets, made him as comfortable as possible during that significant period in the low temperatures. Dad suffered a dislocated kneecap in the fall, and has required tendon surgery. He is expected to be in hospital for some time, and thus will not be able to visit his wife (our mum) for a while.
We would like to thank all those concerned for their kind assistance.
