IN answer to Liam Byrne’s letter, money will not be taken from the pockets of Vale Royal residents.

The new Chester waste collection scheme will cost less than their existing scheme.

The early termination of the Chester scheme in 2012 will incur a repayment of the capital outstanding on the renovated Materials Recycling Facility, which will continue in use on any future scheme and renovation would have been required without any change of scheme.

The remaining repayment of less than £100k is a transitional cost, which is planned savings.

The promise of a new scheme in 2012 is not vague as you suggest, it is certain.

With reference to your comments regarding Ineos, Vale Royal Borough Council’s policy is that if Ineos Chlor’s plan was approved as it has now been, then it would seek to send any incineratable waste to that site.

It is highly unlikely that any effluent from Ineos Chlor that will be within Government standards, will land anywhere local, if at all CLR JAN MASHLAN Davenham and Moulton

I find the comments made by Clr. Jan Mashlan quite disturbing. The emissions from the Ineos Chlor incinerator at Runcorn will be in the atmosphere....toxins for us all to breathe. Vale Royal may well seek to send waste for incineration to Runcorn, but Cheshire County Council have a mind to burn it all much nearer home. The "Government standards" toxins will be in the air over Davenham and Moulton, without a shadow of a doubt. Clr. Mashlan should be up in arms about the passing of plans for the Runcorn incinerator, and fighting tooth and nail to oppose the plans for the Lostock Gralam incinerator.
