Thundersprint: the councillors show

FOR a number of years the Thundersprint was advertised as a free event when clearly it is not.

To subsidise a business out of taxpayers hard earned cash without any reference to those suckers who pay for it, shows the contempt those same taxpayers are held in by our local councillors.

Goes along with the huge waste of our money on the Northwich Vision nonsense.

To say that the event encourages 150,000 visitors to the town is also nonsense. More than the Grand National attracts.

And further to state that it also brings into the town coffers an extra £2,500,000 is also a pipe dream.

If the organisers want to put this event on each year, how about using the ready made racetrack that is the dual carriageway through Winsford town centre.

It has roundabouts at both ends to facilitate speed. Instead of ambling around a shop car park.

As someone who lives close to the site used, I can most certainly say that it does nothing but contribute greatly to the so-called carbon emissions that all of us are requested to control.

The sooner Vale Royal Borough Council is dismantled and its councillors put out to grass the better.

The £40,000 that is contributed to a private business should be refused.
