£75,000 mayor is just no joke

A COST of £75,000 per year for someone to dress up like a beardless Father Christmas? What a joke!
Why not ask a retired person of some standing to act as Mayor of Vale Royal. It would cost the taxpayer nothing, as I am sure there are more than enough people out there who would do it for nothing, just for the chance to have the title mayor.
By the way, I don’t want it, as I am not retired, but if I were, I would do it for nothing to assist all the charities. Having a mayor apparently helps.
