A MAN was attacked by a gang of teenagers outside a Winsford chippy.

The 26-year-old suffered cuts to the back of his head after the five youths, aged between 18 and 19, punched him to the floor outside the Phoenix chip shop, in Wharton Road.

Insp Dave Snasdell, from Winsford NPU, said: “He was walking on his own when he heard someone shouting.

“Next minute he was punched to the face and fell backwards on to the pavement.

“He continued to be assaulted while he was on the floor.”

The incident happened at 10.05pm on Saturday, November 8.
