Thieves snatch lead from a church roof

LEAD was stolen from the roof of a Winsford church at the weekend.
Thieves struck at United Reformed Church in Swanlow Lane sometime over Saturday night and Sunday morning.
Det Sgt Tony Jones said: “There were a lot of lead thefts at one point but they seemed to have petered out. Hopefully this incident is not part of the trend begining again.”
