‘I’ve got my son back’

A CONVICTED drug dealer has proved himself to be a reformed character after serving half his sentence.
James Edwards, of Bradbury Road, was one of the first to be sentenced after a massive series of drugs raids last summer.
The 18-year-old admitted selling two bags of heroin to undercover police officers in Wharton during Operation Crackdown.
He was given a two-year supervision order with an Intensive Supervision and Surveillance Programme (ISSP) in July last year.
He appeared at Vale Royal Youth Court on Wednesday to ask for the order to be revoked on the grounds of good progress.
Magistrates read a report from the youth offending team and were impressed.
Moira Chapman, chairman of Wednesday’s bench, said: “This really is an excellent report and it’s good to see that some of these orders do work and do make a difference.”
She asked James’ mum what she thought of his progress during the past 12 months and she replied: “It’s excellent, I’ve got my son back.”
Mrs Chapman added: “It’s with absolute pleasure that we are going to revoke this order.
“There is no doubt that you’ve made really good progress – good luck with everything.”
