Mystery donor replaces damaged memorial bench

A BENCH in Winsford has been replaced thanks to a mystery donor.
The bench for war veterans was accidentally knocked down by a man in an electric wheelchair in January.
The memorial to those who lost their lives in the Boer War in the shopping centre, was installed two years ago.
Its replacement was unveiled on Tuesday, June 24.
The doner, who wanted to keep their identity hidden, paid for the bench to be replaced.
The legion had their latest meeting at Winsford United Football Club in Wharton Road on Thursday.
