SCHOOL principal Andrew Ross has thanked Rudheath residents and the local Co-op store for their support for a fundraiser.

Andrew is in charge at Rudheath Primary Academy, which organised a raffle to raise money to buy sports kit for the school.

The raffle prize was a hamper full of Easter treats including chocolate eggs, which was on show for three weeks at the Co-op in Middlewich Road, which also sold the raffle tickets.

The Easter goodies were provided by the school’s Friends group, and Andrew was delighted with the success of the raffle, which raised £315, enough to buy the kit.

The hamper was won by Louise Reid, and was presented by year six pupil Ellis Lovell, who accompanied Andrew at the presentation.

Louise, from Winsford, is the team administrator at Fostering Solutions in Middlewich Road.

“The hamper includes Easter eggs, wine and biscuits, and it was a really nice surprise to win it,” said Louise.

Andrew said: “We wanted to try and raise money for a sports kit for the school, and approached the Co-op, who said they were able to help and sell raffle tickets.

“It was a fantastic success, and we didn’t expect to raise the full amount we needed for the kit. We are looking to place an order for the kit next week.

“I would like to thank the Co-op for letting us have the hamper there and selling tickets, and for the whole community for its support.”
