IT WAS a busy evening at the Rotary Club of Northwich Vale Royal on Wednesday as proceeds from the Mid Cheshire Charity Scooter Rally were distributed amongst the chosen charities for this year.

Representatives from The Samaritans, McMillan Nurses, The Girl Guides, St Johns Ambulance and Amplify all received donations.

A special presentation was made to Mr John Francis of Francis Transport (Northwich) Ltd supporting his charity The Joshua Tree.

Mr Francis kindly supplied the trailer that was used as the stage for the bands at the scooter rally.

The club was also given a talk by Kieran Hatton who highlighted how many young carers under 18 years of age there are in Cheshire looking after a fellow sibling or parent unable to care for themselves or their families, and the effects it has on their young lives growing up.

Rotary also welcomed fellow Rotarian Susanne Rea from Australia who is travelling the globe at her own expense promoting her idea for the World’s Greatest Meal and the Rotary Flame Joint Tour of 2015.

This is in support of the eradication of polio worldwide.
