Murder charge after elderly woman found dead in Winsford

A MAN has been charged with the murder of his wife in Winsford.
At 4:27pm on Friday, September 7, Cheshire Police received a call reporting the discovery of a woman’s body at an address in Rilshaw Lane.
On arrival at the address, officers discovered the body of 82-year-old Hazel Bailey.
A post mortem later revealed the cause of death to be head injuries.
Douglas Bailey, 78, was arrested and charged with murder.
He appeared via video link from Middlewich custody suite before Crewe magistrates this morning, Monday, September 10.
Bailey is due to appear at Chester Crown Court on Wednesday, September 12.
