African band leave for Edinburgh
7:00am Thursday 26th July 2012 in News By Matthew Taylor
THE a cappella band Africa Entsha say goodbye to Winsford in a farewell gig at the Red Lion pub at 8pm on Thursday, July 26.
The quintet have become celebrities in the town over the past few months, performing in various schools and alongside students from the E-ACT academy.
The group is gearing up for a trip north of the border, where they will play 24 dates at a 400 seat venue during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where they won the best performance of the festival award last year.
They have recorded their second album at The Hive’s Pollen8 studio above De Bees music bar in the town.
Titled Vumani Bo Red Lion – Zulu for ‘Say Yes’– the album features the groups trademark close harmony performances.
The album will be available at the show on Thursday night, and from iTunes from August 3.
The band return to Winsford on September 15 for a gig in St Chad’s church.
