Olympic torch comes to St Luke's
10:27am Friday 20th July 2012 in News
AN OLYMPIC torchbearer and former breast cancer sufferer visited the patients at St Luke’s Hospice to give them chance to see the torch.
Michaela Bryant was chosen to be a torchbearer because of her contribution to charity.
Wearing her London 2012 Olympic costume on her visit to the Winsford-based hospice, she shared her experiences of carrying the flame.
Michaela said: “It was a privilege to meet the patients and staff at St Luke’s, and to share with them what has been an incredibly exciting experience for myself and my family and friends.”
St Luke’s (Cheshire) Hospice is an adult hospice that cares for people from Mid and South Cheshire suffering from cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
It is a non-profit making organisation, funded by voluntary contributions and the local Primary Care Trust offering treatment, care, advice and support to many seriously ill people and their families every year.
