THE producers of an adult circus show heading to Winsford this month have slammed Cheshire West and Chester Council for banning an explicit preview video on its website.

The Circus of Horrors, which arrives in the town for a one off show at the Lifestyle Centre on Tuesday, January 25, is renowned for being one of the most bizzare circus act on Earth and is celebrating 15 years on the road.

However, a video, to promote the event, has been banned from Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWAC) website after it was branded ‘inappropriate’.

Ian Callister, a spokesman for CWAC, said: “The video includes scenes of self harm and sex.

“There is no doubt whatsoever that it was totally inappropriate for a council website that may be viewed by children.”

The show is based on four chapters from hell and features a flying trapeze and a vampire crow woman suspended by her hair.

However Dr Haze, creator of the show, has spoke out against the decision.

He said: “It’s ridiculous, we are bringing our unique and spectacular show to Winsford for the first time and its a real cue for Winsford.

“Normally the show performs in large cities throughout the world, London, Amsterdam, Munich, Buena’s Aries, Tokyo, Paris, Dublin Santiago De Chile and now Winsford.

“The council should be shouting about this from the rooftops.

“In addition to our live shows we have had loads of TV credits in the UK, Ant and Dec, This Morning Don’t Try This at Home, London’s burning and even a Royal Command Performance.

“It appears that its OK for Prince Charles but it’s not OK for Cheshire West and Chester Council’s website.”
