Police hunt ferret thief

A FERRET thief is at large in Winsford.

Three of the weasel-like critters have been stolen fin the town since Tuesday, June 30, and police are looking for leads to help them find the sticky-fingered culprit.

Two albino ferrets went missing a garden in Vauxhall Way between 6pm and 7pm on Tuesday, June 30. But Insp Dave Snasdell of Winsford NPU said they did not simply escape because the cage went missing too.

On Wednesday, July 1 a third ferret fell victim when he went missing from a garage in Wingfield Place between 9am and 10.30am.

Insp Snasdell said: “The owner doesn’t believe the ferret just escaped and this one will be classed as burglary because its cage was in a garage attached to the house.

“We have got a few leads about who is responsible but would still like to hear from anyone who knows anything.”

If you can help police reunite the frisky friends wth their owners, contact Det Sgt Tony Jones at Winsford Neighbourhood Policing Unit on 01244612594.
