TRAFFIC was brought to a standstill this morning, Monday, after a five-vehicle pile up on the M6.
Four cars and a HGV collided at around 7.15am and all lanes on the southbound carriageway between junction 18 for Middlewich and 19 for Knutsford had to be closed while emergency services cleared the scene.
One person is believed to have suffered a broken arm, but there are not thought to be any more serious injuries.
All lanes have now been re-opened, but police are warning motorists to avoid the area while the traffic clears.
