BUSINESS people in Winsford spoke this week about the impact of a long-term road closure for sewer improvements.
Wharton Road was closed to traffic on Monday, January 14 and is expected to remain so until Friday, May 30.
Shajibul Choudhury, a partner at Cafe India in Wharton Road, said: "It's affected the business quite badly and people have said they'll go elsewhere.
"They said it will be closed for another few weeks but we've not said anything to the council. We just have to keep going and we've been posting menus through people's doors to let them know that we're still open."
Ady Samt, barman at the Red Lion pub, said: "It's not affected us at all because we're right at the bottom of the road. We did get a letter telling us about the closure about two weeks before the work started and I'm happy with how we've been treated."
Phase one of the works is from the junction of Ledward Street to the junction with Crook Lane. Phase two of the works is from the junction of Nat Lane to the junction with Bradbury Road.
Traffic has been diverted via Wharton Park roundabout.
Ali Ahmed, manager at John Moors convenience store in Wharton Road, said: "Its definitely affected our business and we're upset about it but there's nothing we can do."
