LES Miranda may have kicked his last ball for Blues.

The Legend, picked by supporters as their Player of the Year on Saturday, has warned Winsford manager Joe Gibiliru he may retire after one of his best campaigns to date.

He finished as the team's top scorer with 24 goals.

"Les said he's thinking about giving up," Gibiliru told the Guardian.

"But I've spoken to his pals Lee Duckworth and Mike Langley and they said he says that every year so we'll have to wait and see.

"He's had a fantastic season and there's definitely a place for him here.

"Les said he wouldn't be signing for anyone else so we'll get him to sign a form and then he can decide."

Gibiliru himself picked goalkeeper Michael Langley as his Player of the Year - his teammates did the same - at an awards evening at Barton Stadium.

The Blues' custodian played more matches than anybody else this season.

"Mike has been a rock for us," said Gibiliru.

"He's seen the defence in front of him change so many times due to injuries or players leaving but he's just got on with it and done a terrific job."

Physio Tony Ennion, father of midfielder Dean, picked up Clubman of the Season, while Andrew Simpson was picked as Junior Supporter of the Year.

Special awards wemt to Joe Gibiliru, his wife Cath, plus secretary Bob Astles for his work behind the scenes.

Gibiliru said now was not the time for him to ease off as his preparations for next season have begun already.

Winsford closed their campaign with a 2-1 home success over Formby last Tuesday, a result that ensures they will finish inside the top 10 in Gibiliru's debut campaign.

Phil Mason grabbed both the goals.

Trafford have been promoted as Vodkat North West Counties League Division One champions with Salford set to join them in the UniBond League as runners up.
