Stop the presses – I have a great idea.

In 2005 Tony Blair won the general election with just 35.2 per cent of the vote and I was gutted.

The man who threatened us with non-existent weapons of mass destruction and dragged us into a war was returned to office with barely more than a third of the popular vote.

Two thirds of the country did not vote for Mr Blair and his enormous ego but that’s what we got and what did we do about it?

We accepted it as part of the democratic process, that’s what we did.

Well enough of that democracy nonsense.

In future I think we should rebel whenever the result of a general election offends us, even if the majority voted for the winning party.

What do they know?

Along with malevolent politicians and large corporations, we should do everything within our power to wreck that election victory.

For propaganda purposes we should give our campaign a catchy name like err…Wrexit.

Yeah, that’s it Wrexit.

Has a nice ring to it don’t you think?

We could keep the country in a permanent state of uncertainty until we got the result we wanted.

Basically our slogan would be ‘vote for us...or else’.

Of course once we had the ‘correct’ result we would get on with running the country.

Unless of course the majority we undermined staged its own Wrexit campaign in which case we’d have no time to run the country as we would need to concentrate all our efforts on staving off another election.

The problem with democracy is accepting the result when you don’t think it’s right.

The alternative is a dictatorship.

I accepted the Labour party 2005 victory, not because I thought it was ‘right’ but because I supported the democratic process.

Well I’ll not be doing that again now I’ve seen how much fun can be had by undermining the result.

Look what other countries have achieved without true democracy.

Zimbabwe, North Korea, Syria...need I say more?
