PUPILS from Oak View Academy were taken to see the famous sights of the capital city as a reward for all their commitment to learning, and to wish them well for the future.

Year Six children recently returned from a two day trip to London, where they visited top tourist attractions like the London Eye, the Tower of London and the Science Museum.

Principal Fiona Whittaker said: “We have some wonderful pupils here and we wanted to give them a once in a lifetime experience as a thank you for their commitment to school, and to make special memories before they move on with their education.

“This trip was a great way to reward the children but, not only that, it has shown them things they have never seen before.

The children and staff travelled by train and on the iconic London Underground system during the visit and stayed at St Paul’s Youth Hostel.

Fiona added: “The Houses of Parliament were particularly inspirational because we talked about things they can do as individuals to make a difference. Giving our children exciting new experiences is so rewarding for all of us.”

The trip was completed with a West End theatre production of ‘School of Rock’ before enjoying a meal at a restaurant.
